Times are changing especially in the world of food. Everyone is more aware of their bodies and their choices. Here at The Fish & The Chip we have made it our mission to ensure that as many people as possible can enjoy the Nation’s favourite dish of fish and chips!

We know how hard it can be to dine out with confidence if you suffer from a food allergy and therefore it seemed obvious to us that rather than doing a token gluten free batter on a certain day of the week, our offer should give coeliacs the freedom to choose from a large variety of options whenever they’d like! By making sure all our batters are gluten free as well using gluten free bread crumbs ensures we have no risk of cross contamination.

It seemed only fitting that with our first site being located in Leicester which is an awesome melting pot of people and cultures that we add an injection of all these world flavours to create our modern take on the classic Fish & Chips befitting of 2018!

Despite this we also know when not to mess around too much so our much loved Classic Fish and Chips is wrapped in a lemon and parsley gluten free batter, with homemade mushy peas and skinny or chunky chips however if you like a bit of spice we have our Masala Spiced Tilapia, coated in gluten free breadcrumbs, served with chunky chips or skinny fries, mushy peas and a coconut & coriander dip or our Chilli & Garlic Marinated King Tiger Prawns in a tikka infused batter, skinny fries, curry sauce and house salad.

If Caribbean flavours are more your thing, our marinated cod, encased in a gluten free jerk batter with mushy peas and lemon & garlic aioli will be sure to transport you back to the islands, this is also available grilled for a healthier option!

You may think from the name that we only do “Fish and Chips” but just like our range of batters we have a diverse range of gluten free starters and desserts. Here are our top sellers to get your taste buds going. Gluten free Flaked crab claw meat pakoras spiced with red chilli, ginger and garlic. Served with a coconut & coriander dip, Gluten free Celery salt & five spice squid with lemon & garlic aioli, Gluten free Battered halloumi fries covered in a jerk sauce with glazed pineapple chunks and for desserts we have our Warm apple crumble with a gluten free crumble top and a salted caramel sauce and our personal favourite, Moist rich ginger cake served with served with vegan coconut and chocolate ice cream.
